帰国とブログを始める理由
10月1日から31日までのアメリカ滞在を終えて、日本に帰ってきました。現地でもブログを更新しようと思っていたのですが、毎日Instagramを上げることで精一杯。中途半端にするよりは、帰ってきてから少しずつアップしていくのも良いかなと考え方を変えました。
旅の最初のテーマ（ロス〜スティルウォーター）
まずはロス空港に到着してからオクラホマまでのドライブについて。カリフォルニア州のロサンゼルス空港からオクラホマ州スティルウォーターという町を目指しました。なぜスティルウォーターか？オクラホマで会う予定だったSteady Co.が「オクラホマならスティルウォーターがいいよ」と勧めてくれたから。本当にそれだけの理由です。でも結果的には、この選択は大正解でした。
旅のルートと気づき
走行距離は約2300キロ。オクラホマにも空港はありますし、どう考えてもロスから飛行機で行った方が楽で、たぶんお金もかからなかった。でも、なんとなくこの距離を走ってみたかった。カリフォルニア、アリゾナ、ニューメキシコ、テキサスを抜けてオクラホマへ。カリフォルニアを出るあたりからI-40という高速に乗り、ひたすら東へ。州ごとに景色がどう変わるのかを見たかったんです。そんな、ほぼ無計画なスタートでこの旅は始まりました。
ブログの方針と締め
ブログもInstagramと同じように1日1記事の内容で書いていこうと思います。Instagramでは伝えきれなかったことや、帰ってからの気づき。そういったものをこのブログに残していければ。完全な自己満足ですが、あとから自分で見返せるのも悪くない。要はブリトーハウスのアメリカ滞在日記ですね。うん、それでよいかも。

Returning to Japan & Why I Started This Blog
After spending the month of October (1st – 31st) in the U.S., I returned to Japan. I originally intended to update my blog while traveling, but keeping up with daily Instagram posts was already a full-time effort. Rather than doing a half-hearted job on both, I decided to shift my approach and update everything slowly after coming home.
The First Theme of This Trip (LA → Stillwater)
Let’s start with the drive from Los Angeles to Stillwater, Oklahoma. I landed at LAX and set out for a town called Stillwater. Why Stillwater? Because Steady Co., whom I was planning to meet in Oklahoma, told me, “If you’re coming to Oklahoma, Stillwater is the place.” That was literally the only reason — but it turned out to be the perfect choice.
The Route & What I Learned
I drove about 2,300 kilometers (around 1,400 miles). Sure, Stillwater has its own airport, and flying from LA would’ve been cheaper and much easier. But I just had this urge to cover the distance on my own wheels — from California through Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas, all the way to Oklahoma. I took the I-40 eastbound from the edge of California and just kept driving, curious to see how the landscape would shift from state to state. That pretty much set the tone for this loosely planned journey.
How I Plan to Write This Blog
Like my Instagram posts, I plan to write one entry per day. I want to share things that couldn’t fit into Instagram captions and reflections that came after returning home. It’s completely for my own satisfaction, but having a record to look back on isn’t a bad thing. In a way, this is just the Burrito House America Travel Diary — and honestly, that feels just right.
