ポーランドは、ヨーロッパの中でも職人文化が今も生活の中に息づいている国です。20世紀のあいだに国境が何度も変わり、戦争、社会主義体制、市場経済への急転換をすべて経験してきました。激しい歴史の変化をくぐり抜けながらも、「直して使う」「自分の手で作り続ける」という感覚を失わずにきた土地であると思います。大量生産よりも、目の届く規模で丁寧に作ること。効率よりも、長く使い続けられること。そうした価値観が、今も多くのインディペンデントな作り手たちのベースにあるように感じます。
ブリトーハウスが惹かれた理由
ブリトーハウスがBaby Legs Bagsに惹かれた理由のひとつは、その佇まいにあります。ヨーロッパのブランドでありながら、いわゆるミニマル一辺倒ではなく、色の使い方にやわらかさと奥行きがある。主張は強すぎないのに、きれいに記憶に残るカラーリング。洗練は感じるけれど、どこか距離を取られる感じがない。生活や手仕事の延長線上に、そのまま存在しているような自然さがあります。

ここからは、Baby Legs Bagsのブランドストーリーです。実際に、オーナーであるEwelinaの言葉を紹介します。
みなさん、こんにちは。私の名前はエヴェリナです。Baby Legsという小さなブランドを立ち上げ、運営しています。
10年以上にわたり、バイクツーリングやバイクパッキング用のバッグを作り、縫い続けてきました。ようやく自分の仕事に心から満足できるようになり、だからこそ、いくつかのプロダクトを皆さんとシェアするという大きな決断をしました。
Baby Legsのアイデアの根底にあるのは、環境に対する大量生産の影響を減らすことです。すべての製品は私自身が制作し、生地や端切れも余すことなく使い切ることで、バッグ製作時に出る廃棄物を最小限に抑えています。バッグに使われている素材はすべて高品質なプラスチックで、数百年経っても分解されないものです。だからこそ、壊れたら終わりではなく、できるだけ長く使い続けることを前提にしたものづくりを大切にしています。
日本へのメッセージ
最後に、日本に向けた嬉しいメッセージをもらいました。
私は、自分の作品を世界中でシェアしたいと思っていました。すべてサステナブルに、すべて私自身の手で受注生産し、余分な在庫を持たず、大量生産もしないスタイルです。
その中で、ブリトーハウスとコラボレーションすることができました。そして、とうとう私のバッグが日本へ。私はずっと、自転車パーツやナイフ、カメラ機材など、日本のクラフトマンシップを尊敬してきました。だから、日本で自分の作品を扱ってもらえることは、大きなご褒美のように感じています。

About Baby Legs Bags
This time, I’d like to introduce Baby Legs Bags, an independent brand based in Poland.
Poland is a country where craftsmanship still quietly lives within everyday life. Throughout the 20th century, its borders shifted again and again, and the country experienced war, socialism, and a rapid transition to a market economy. Even while passing through such dramatic historical changes, there remains a deeply rooted sense of “repairing and continuing to use” and “making things by one’s own hands.” Rather than mass production, there is a respect for working on a human scale. Rather than efficiency, an emphasis on making things that last. I feel these values still form the foundation for many independent makers today.
Why Burrito House Was Drawn to Baby Legs Bags
One of the reasons Burrito House was drawn to Baby Legs Bags is its overall presence. Although it is a European brand, it doesn’t lean toward a rigid, one-dimensional minimalism. There is softness and depth in the use of color. The designs don’t shout, yet they stay gently in your memory. They feel refined, but never distant. There is a natural quality to them, as if they exist seamlessly as an extension of daily life and handwork.
The Story of Baby Legs Bags
Here, I’d like to share the brand story of Baby Legs Bags, in the words of its founder, Ewelina.
Hello everyone. My name is Ewelina, and I run a small brand called Baby Legs.
For over ten years, I have been making and sewing bags for bike touring and bikepacking. Only recently have I felt truly satisfied with my own work, and that feeling led me to make a big decision—to start sharing some of my products with others.
At the core of Baby Legs is the desire to reduce the environmental impact of mass production. Every product is made by my own hands, and I make full use of every piece of fabric and scrap, minimizing waste generated during the bag-making process. All materials used are high-quality plastics that will not decompose for hundreds of years. That is exactly why I value making things that are not meant to be disposable, but instead designed to be used for as long as possible.
A Message to Japan
Lastly, I received a warm message for Japan.
“It’s a great honor to having me. Thank you so much Kiyoshi, for this small collab. I hope it’s only beginning of our co-op. From very beginning I wanted to share my works over the World. All with sustainability, all made to order by me and my hands, without any extra stocks and without large quantities. Now, my bags went to Japan. Always appreciated Japanese craft like bike gears, knifes or photo equipment. So, having me in Japan is a great reward. Please, come in to Burrito House and enjoy my and others stuff. Kyoshi made a beautiful place for bike community. I hope I’ll visit you someday.”
