Neko Cyclesを扱おうと思ったのは、最初に見たときの直感でした。
「これ、日本にはないな」って。
ブリトーハウスでは、2022年8月に取り扱いをスタートしています。
リフレクターという小さなアイテムに、センスと丁寧さがぎゅっと詰まっているんです。
手に取ったとき、それがちゃんと伝わってくる。
そんなリフレクターを作っているのが、フィリピン・マニラに暮らすSteff。
Neko Cyclesのオーナーであり、つくり手でもあります。
出会った頃は医療系の大学に通う学生でしたが、今では看護師としてフルタイムで働きながら、空いた時間に一つひとつ、手作業でリフレクターを作っています。
Neko Cyclesの原点は、「自転車に優しくない国で、少しでも安全に走れるようにしたい」という想い。
フィリピンの道路は車やバイクが中心で、自転車には決してやさしくありません。
そんな環境のなか、Steffはたまたま家にあったミシンを使ってリフレクターづくりを始めました。
気づけば、それは彼女自身のブランドになっていたそうです。
実際にやり取りしていても、Steffはとても素直で、まっすぐな人柄。
ただ商品を作っているのではなく、本当に「リフレクター作りが好きなんだな」と思わされるんです。
その姿勢にふれて、2023年3月には日本の総代理店として正式に契約を交わしました。
Steffはまだ若い女性ですが、ビジネスセンスもあり、勉強熱心。
大の日本好きで、日本のアニメをきっかけに日本語を学び、
ユニクロや無印良品といった日本のブランドにも親しみを持っています。
2024年には3回目の来日を果たし、海外初となるポップアップストアを日本で開催することができました。

最近では欧米からのオーダーも増え、Send It Safely、LUGS NOT DRUGSといったブリトーハウスでもお馴染みのブランドのリフレクター製作も手がけています。
また、OLDMTBカルチャーで知られるToasty Ridesとも制作実績があります。
ただの仕入先ではなく、「このブランドをちゃんと届けたい」と思わせてくれる存在。
だからこそ、ブリトーハウスではNeko Cyclesを“代理店”というかたちで紹介しています。
丁寧で、ユニークで、どこかやさしい。

I first came across Neko Cycles and immediately thought, “This doesn’t exist in Japan.” It was a gut feeling—and the kind I trust.
I’ve been carrying Neko Cycles at Burrito House since August 2022.
Each reflector is small, but packed with care and character. You can feel it the moment you hold one in your hand.
These reflectors are all made by Steff, the founder and maker of Neko Cycles, who lives in Manila, Philippines. When we first met, she was a university student studying nursing. Today, she works full-time as a nurse while still creating reflectors by hand, one by one, in her spare time.
The heart of Neko Cycles comes from a simple but powerful idea:
to help people ride safely in a country that isn’t made for bicycles. In the Philippines, cars and motorbikes dominate the streets. Cycling there can feel like an afterthought. So Steff began making reflectors at home with a sewing machine she happened to have. Before long, it turned into a brand of her own.
Over time, working with Steff made one thing clear—she’s genuine and focused. She’s not just making products. You can tell she truly enjoys the craft.
In March 2023, we signed an exclusive distribution agreement to represent her in Japan.
She’s still young, but full of potential. Business-savvy, curious, and deeply in love with Japanese culture. Her interest in Japan began with anime, and she’s since taught herself the language. She’s also a big fan of brands like Uniqlo and Muji.
In 2024, Steff visited Japan for the third time and hosted her very first international pop-up here.
Orders have been increasing from the US and Europe, and she’s collaborated with some familiar names—Send It Safely, LUGS NOT DRUGS, and Toasty Rides, to name a few.
She’s not just another maker we stock. She’s someone I believe in. That’s why I introduce Neko Cycles not just as a product, but as a brand we represent.
Thoughtful, unique, and quietly warm—these reflectors carry something special, and I am proud to share them from Japan.
